The COVID -19 Rural Community Sensitisation is our ongoing project involving educating people in under served communities in the FCT , Abuja. This initiative was prompted by the feedback of ignorance and denial received from our communities. We therefore felt the urgent need to take the fight against COVID-19 there to sensitise them about the global pandemic in order to avoid an outbreak at that level which will be devastating for us as a Nation.

We met with our TCF, ENGINE II & ECOSAT girls and stakeholders including the Chiefs, Pastors, Imams, Women leaders and youth leaders to teach them and have them step down the training to others in their various groups.

We practiced proper hand washing, social distancing, the importance of small group meetings, making of face masks with affordable materials. We handed over buckets, hand washing soap & sanitisers to the participants and left the banners at strategic locations in the Community for continued learning . We could not continue the physical campaigns and food distribution because of the lockdown in the FCT and resorted to the use of video messages on android phones to stakeholders at Community level.

This was TCF ‘s little contribution towards the fight against COVID-19 in our communities.
