Adoption of Code of Conduct by Government Agencies

ENGINE II in the FCT rounded up with remarkable sustainability milestones of program values and impact with stakeholders in Government. These milestones would support far more than the over 2000 In School and Out of School marginalized adolescent girls we have worked with on the program for the past three years.
We developed a Code of Conduct adopted by the Executive Secretary of The National Commission For Mass Literacy: Adult and Non- Formal learners NMEC), Prof Abubakar Abba Haladu supported by Association for Literacy Support (NOGAALS )to create safe spaces and protect learners in Non- formal learning centres in the 36 States of Nigeria and Abuja.
Also, the Director FCT Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB), Alhaji Hussein Bako adopted the use of ENGINE II Code of Conduct, Child and Vulnerable Adults Protection (CVAP) Manuals and Life Skills Manual for use in over 800 Primary Schools and Junior Secondary Schools, Post -ENGINE. Considering the up rise in incidences of violence and abuse of girls, this will empower and equip many girls with knowledge and response mechanisms on CVAP.
The ENGINE II team, led by the Mercy Corps Program Manager Implementation, Abiose Haruna, the ED TCF Tayo Erinle and the State Team Lead, Deborah Brown, presented the documents to NMEC and UBEB for the launch.
These are Giant Strides for the FCT ENGINE II team to impact thousands of learners all over Nigeria. To GOD be the glory.
