Government Stakeholders Visit TCF
FEDERAL MINISTRY OF EDUCATION

Tabitha Cumi Foundation received the representatives from the Federal Ministry of Education (NGO Section) to her office on the 11th of January 2021. The visit which was led by Mrs Elizabeth Afape served as one of the requirements carried out in registering an NGO under the umbrella body of the Ministry.

Tabitha Cumi Foundation as an organisation has been playing a critical role in championing the cause of educating and equipping learners (adult and young students) in the FCT Abuja, Niger, Nasarawa and Kwara states of Nigeria. The purpose of this visit was to align the organisation towards the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 which is to achieve inclusive and quality education for all Nigerians and to obtain legal status that will enable her to interact at the official level among donors and be accountable hence, the importance of registering with the NGO section of the Federal Ministry of Education.
During their visit, the team from the ministry asked about TCF’s interventions, reach and marginalisation criteria for selection of its program beneficiaries and stated aim of the pre- registration exercise to access the structure of the organisation and sight official registration documents to ensure that TCF has the capacity to carry out and coordinate educational interventions.

The Executive Director, Arc Adetayo Erinle introduced the organisation and its thematic areas while the programme team gave a presentation and an overview on all interventions on education and non- education programs which have been carried out by the organisation and those currently running.

On the 3rd of February 2021, a team led by Mr. M.E. Abah representing the NGO section of the Federal Ministry of Health, visited Tabitha Cumi Foundation office as one of the requirements carried out in registering an NGO under the umbrella body of the Ministry. The NGO section of the ministry see to the formulation and implementation of policies related to health interventions in non- governmental organisations.

The Executive Director of Tabitha Cumi Foundation warmly welcomed the team, introduced the organisation and its thematic areas stating that Tabitha Cumi Foundation have been providing and improving access to health to thousands of women, young girls, and children in underserved communities in the FCT, Niger, Nasarawa and Kwara States.
The program team gave presentations on the health projects Tabitha Cumi Foundation have implemented and currently implementing such as “Help Mama Keep Baby “, US PEPFAR supported Primary Health Care construction/ renovation and Procter and Gamble RIGAKAFI Pampers project.
The Ministry officials commended TCF team on work done and looked forward to collaborating with the organization to reach more underserved communities in Nigeria.
