International Day of the Girl Child 2021 (FLAGS Project)

As the World celebrates the International Day of the Girl Child with the theme “Digital Generation Our Generation Not Without Girls.

The Flashlight Actions on Girls Safety (FLAGS) supported by the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women and girls program held an event to celebrate girls and amplify their voices to ensure their challenges and barriers are collectively addressed.

The girls made different presentations and the key highlight from the event was a round table discussion with a Community Leader, Director Health Bwari Area Council, FCT Police Gender Desk officer and FIDA on “Gender-based violence the shadow pandemic; Way forward”. In attendance at the event was the Police Gender Desk, Funmi B. Kolawale, Director of Health Bwari Area Council, Dr Goji S.D, FIDA FCT, Amarachi Chukwu, Durumi Community Leader and other Government organizations and CSO’s were represented at the event.
