16 Days Of Activism Flag Off Commemorative Event

Tabitha Cumi Foundation hosted a commemorative event to flag off the 16 days of activism to end violence against women and girls on the 25th of November 2021. In attendance were project participants, Representatives of Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, FCT Police Gender Desk Officer, Child Protection Network Focal Person, Director Health Bwari Area Council, FCT Department Of Mass Education ,100 Women Lobby Group and the Press from different media houses.

The purpose of the event was to inform key stakeholders and media about upcoming activities for 16days of activism to end violence against women and girls. The Executive Director of TCF Arc Adetayo Erinle elaborated further on what the FLAGS project is all about and TCF activities for the rest of the 16 days while DSP Funmi Kolawole the FCT Police Gender Desk Officer spoke about the spike in GBV cases and prosecution.

The representative of the Federal Minister of Women Affairs Mrs Shuaibu spoke about the Ministry’s engagements in fighting and collecting data on GBV while the HOD Health Bwari spoke about treatment and care for survivors of GBV. Every participant present took the “Do no harm” pledge at the end of the event .
