Flags Manual Development

Tabitha Cumi Foundation hosted a 3 days Flash Light Actions on Girls Safety (FLAGS) curriculum development meeting at Blue Hills Kado, Abuja. The purpose of this meeting was to come up with a girl friendly, easy to read manual on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) for FLAGS participants who are out of school girls aged 10-19 years. The manual will also serve as a text with which the girls would be taught about GBV in their safe spaces.

In attendance at the review were the FCT Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) chairperson , The Police Gender Desk Officer, (FCT command),Representatives of Federal Ministry of Health, Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Non-Governmental Associations for Literacy Support Services (NOGALSS), Child Protection Network (CPN) , Dr. Agwube Ahmadu, a Trustee of Tabitha Cumi Foundation , Raquel Daniels an MHM consultant and FLAGS participants from two communities and two Amintacces. Participants were split into five different groups according to their areas of expertise to develop content for the five modules of the manual. On the final day of the review, participants from all the groups merged to review the entire text. At the end of the review, the team was able to develop a working draft for the FLAGS manual which will be published and used to teach beneficiaries of the FLAGS project.
