State Level Sensitization Meeting With School Level Key Stakeholders On The Establishment Of School Pad Banks In The 5 GEP 3 States.

Tabitha Cumi Foundation led the step-down training in the 5 GEP3 States: Bauchi (6th &7th), Kano (5th & 6th), Katsina (5th &6th), Sokoto (7th& 8th), and Zamfara (6th & 7th) along with HiLWA Members. GEP3 project is funded by UNICEF in collaboration with NMEC and supported by the state Ministry of Education and SUBEB.
A total of 571 School Principals, Guidance Counsellors and mentors were trained on the minimum standard for the establishment of a pad bank and operationalization of a pad bank.
Breakdown of attendees per state: Bauchi State had 110 participants, Kano State 160 participants, Katsina, Sokoto and Zamfara States had 97, 101 and 103 participants trained respectively.
At the end of the trainings, participants were well enlightened on the knowledge and importance of Menstrual Health Hygiene Management and the Minimum Standards for the Establishment of Pad Banks in Schools, they were also set to establish pad banks in their various schools.
