Always Keeping Girls in School (AKGIS) Project Curriculum Review Meeting
We are thrilled to unveil another round of our Always Keeping Girls in School (AKGIS) project, supported by Procter & Gamble (P&G) to make a significant impact on girls’ menstrual hygiene in schools of the FCT, Lagos and Kwara States schools.
Always Keeping Girls In School aims to equip girls with the correct knowledge of menstrual hygiene through a well-articulated girl-friendly, easy-to-read manual, with complementary infographics, a one-year supply of Always sanitary pad and an emergency sanitary box in the schools.
We conducted a curriculum review meeting with our stakeholders including the Federal Ministry of Health, the Federal Ministry of Education, the Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB), the FCT Education Secretariat, renowned menstrual hygiene consultants, guidance counsellors and project beneficiaries themselves. This collective effort was devoted to reviewing and updating the AKGIS flow guide manual.
The attendees were divided into working groups to brainstorm and provide invaluable insights and contributions to create an even more user-friendly manual. The contributions and inputs from this review will play a pivotal role in drafting an enhanced and more effective manual.
Together, we are taking another significant step towards ensuring that every girl remains in school and spends those special days of the month in dignity and complete their cycle of education.
