2024 Children’s Day Celebration!!
Happy Children’s Day!
In Nigeria, basic education is meant to be free and compulsory. However, statistics show that about 10.5 million of the country’s children aged 5-14 years are out of school.
Today, we celebrate the incredible resilience of children everywhere who overcame barriers to education to reach their dreams.
Meet a true testament to this spirit; Adaeze, a beneficiary of the FLAGS project funded by the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women and Girls and implemented by Tabitha Cumi Foundation
Adaeze was an out of school girl in Kogo community whose life took a transformative turn when she spoke at UNICEF Africa event attended by FLAGS girls. Her outstanding performance earned her a UNICEF scholarship to go back to school.
Once back in the classroom, Adaeze’s hard work, brilliance and dedication paid off remarkably. She came 1st out of over 100 students, an achievement that boosted her confidence and made us proud.
What if Adaeze never had this support?
Adaeze’s story is a powerful reminder that every child deserves a chance to dream and achieve. This Children’s Day is a reminder that you can support and uplift our future leaders. Tabitha Cumi Foundation’s “Back To School” program supported 22 out of school FLAGS girls back to school.
Together, we can help more Adaezes reach their full potential.
